The cautionary tale of Kodak is well known, but what's usually missing is that they were the first to create and significantly develop digital camera technology. With a working prototype in 1975, they could have easily cornered the market on digital imaging technology, becoming the supplier of choice for camera tech in every smartphone on the planet. Betting the farm on film wasn't their only mistake. It was simply lacking the imagination to see what that new technology could become.
Most industries today are facing "Kodak Moments" of their own. For event planners, this presents a unique opportunity to engage with stakeholders that directly address the challenges they face.
This starts by engaging an innovation speaker, or a futurist speaker who can:
- break the mold of limited thinking
- engage with organisations at all levels
- identify strategies that avoid obsolesence
- inspire out-of-the-box future-thinking
And of course, if you want a truly unique perspective for an event in the USA, an Aussie speaker is a perfect choice.
This week we're highlighting the work of Nils Vesk, one of Australia's foremost keynote speakers on innovation.
Nils has recently been in the news for his commentary around Jobs of the Future. His concept of what's coming is both completely out-there, yet meticulously researched and utterly plausible.
It's also worth watching his recent "Future Jobs" video - it's less than two minutes and extremely informative:
